Cannot connect to Sandbox instance-Prod fine

description

I have an online instance that is still 2016 (not D365 yet). When I logon with this tool and select "Display List of Organizations", I get a list that includes the Production and the Sandbox. If I select the production one, all works great. If I select the Sandbox one, the login seems to fail as I'm represented with the "Multiple CRM Organizations are available to you... please choose", but this time the list is empty.
